Sprial Bouquets for Summer

Learn how to make a beautiful spiral bouquet with fresh, gorgeous, sustainably grown flowers from Cedarmere Farm. Spiral bouquets are one of the most classic bouquet techniques. Spiraling allows the bouquet to be carried or delivered fully arranged and ready to go in a vase. A Spiral technique can be used for bridal bouquets, market bouquets, and is the perfect skill to have in your toolbox for delivering perfectly arranged flowers to your host! In the workshop, you'll make two bouquets - one for yourself and one to gift! We'll also show you how to add ribbon and wrap your spiraled bouquets.
Growing Cool Flowers

Come learn all about growing cool flowers - annuals that are hardy enough to overwinter here in Charlottesville with minimal, if any, protection. This includes sweet peas, dianthus, stock, lisianthus, Bells of Ireland, and more. We'll review which can be direct sown and which need to be started inside. We'll also discuss the benefits of soil blocking, a wonderful way to start seeds without the use of plastics! You'll come home with a plan for growing flowers over the winter and some seeds to start your cool flower journey!

Dahlia Growing 101

Dahlias, in their many shapes, colors, and sizes, are staples in the Summer cut flower garden becasue they are cut-and-come-again, producing blooms from June until the first Frost. With a little know-how, these floral superstars, are easy to grow and maintain and will shine in your garden and in flower arrangements -- let us show you how! Join us for this comprehensive dahlia workshop where where our head flower farmer and floral designer will teach you everything you need to know to grow and arrange with amazing dahlias. Cost of admission also includes two dahlia tubers!
Holiday Wreath, Swag, & Garland Workshop

Kick off the holiday season by joining us to learn how to create a festive wreath, garland, swag, or centerpiece arrangement for your table while enjoying warm cocoa, holiday cookies, and the beautiful winter scenery of Cedarmere Farm. Tickets include all the materials needed to make a wreath or swag appropriate for a 36" door, garland, or table centerpiece, as well as light refreshments of hot cocoa and holiday cookies.
