Our DIY “Do it Yourself” fresh flower buckets are an economical way to creatively design florals however you’d like. They are wonderful for making arrangements in your home or also fun for gifts for friends, neighbors, or teachers. The flower buckets are also perfect for DIY people that want to create centerpieces, bouquets, or arrangements for events like weddings, anniversary parties or small gatherings.
DIY Seasonal Premium Blooms Bucket Details:
- Each 5-gallon bucket will include a "Grower's Choice" of approximately 50 freshly picked premium focal flowers in a variety of colors and sizes that work well together and that are blooming the most beautifully that week! (Please note that we are not able to guarantee specific flowers or foliages in our DIY buckets.) Some examples of focal flowers include peonies, dahlias, lisianthus, garden roses, china asters, and heirloom chrysanthemums.
- DIY buckets must be ordered at least two weeks in advance of your pick-up date.
- We recommend picking up your bucket(s) no more than 2 days before your event, but the closer to your event the better!
- All DIY Buckets must be picked up at our Charlottesville studio. We are unable to deliver.
Please bring an empty, clean 5-gallon bucket for pickup. We will fill it with floral food and fresh water for transport. Clean buckets are important for best flower vase life. Please plan to take the flowers directly to a cool spot. Do not ever leave flowers in the sun or a hot car for any period of time. Once the flowers leave our possession, we are no longer responsible. If you do not have a bucket with you at pickup, you may borrow one of our buckets with a $10 deposit.
Thinking About DIY'ing your event florals?
If you thinking about DIY'ing your own flowers for an event, you've got a lot on your plate and we want this to be a good memory for you! Please consider the following things:
- Do you have someone who can pick up the flowers from our farm a day or two before the event in an air-conditioned vehicle that is large enough to transport them safely?
- Do you have a cool, dark place to store the flowers between pick up and the wedding?
- Do you have a good workspace to make the arrangements? Enough table space, a sink and water, and a way to dispose of your stem and leaf clippings?
- Do you have friends or family who can help you make the flower arrangements and several hours to set aside to do them before your wedding?
- Do you have someone who can help install the flowers on your wedding day while you are getting dressed and ready? And someone to help break them down at the end of the event?
